North to Alaska to see Hoganfe Designs ~

This is one of my favorite Ralph Lauren prints and Mary of Hoganfe Designs has made it into a Gorgeous Bag. Not only is it Beautiful ~ it's practical too. There are so many uses for her new line of Cotton Candy Bags and she has so many different prints to choose from. You can use them for Tote Bags, Shopping Bags, Laundry Bags, Diaper Bags, Beach Bags, Lingerie Bags and/or Shabby Chic Gift Bags.

I love the idea of using these Cotton Candy Bags from Hoganfe Designs as Gift Bags. It doesn't get more Shabby Chic than giving a recycled/reusable fabric Bag with a simple gift inside. Two gifts in one ~ not so Shabby, but oh so Chic and so so Green.

She used all of these gorgeous shabby chic and vintage fabrics and also mother of pearl buttons. I LOVE this bag and it's the perfect size ~ not too big and not too small ~ just right.

Mary of Hoganfe Designs lives in Alaska ~ Talkeetna to be exact. The name Talkeetna in Den'aina Indian language means "river of plenty" or "place where food is stored near river". It is a beautiful place ~ the photos I saw online are truly gorgeous. The weather in Alaska is perfect this time of year ~ 72 degrees for the high (which is 20 degrees cooler than here in Florida).

This weekend in Talkeetna ~ they are having their Moose Festival with a Mountain Mother Contest ~ which glorifies the spirit and strength of the Alaskan Woman. The contest involves the following feats (done with a "baby" in a pack on their backs): walk a log in hip waders, carrying 2 buckets of water; "shoot" a balloon moose with a bow and arrow, "catch" a fish, chop up firewood, change the baby and wash out the diaper, make a "pie" and call the kids in.

This is the Beautiful Post Office in Talkeetna ~ it's where Mary sends out her packages to me. I don't know why I was so excited to see it. It looks so much better than our local Post Office. Of course ~ a log cabin building in a Beach town would look rather bizarre and out of place.

This is Mt. Denali ~ it's simply breathtaking!!

This is the last weekend of King Salmon fishing ~ so you'd better order some Salmon today.
