We....the....People....of the United States

Please "scroll down" for my Giveaway ending on 10/03/08!!

This weekend ~ Bright-eyed Bunny and Mr. Bunny played Golf. The weather was Gorgeous and they had so much fun!! She also worked on memorizing the Preamble to the Constitution. I had heard that the fastest way to learn something is to teach it to someone else. So, I encouraged her to TRY and teach the Preamble to me. Well, have you seen the Bumper Sticker that says:

Of all the things I've Lost ... I miss my mind the most!!

Yes, Bright-eyed Bunny memorized it forwards and backwards. As for Mama Bunny ~ let's just say it's a good thing that I'm not going to be graded on my memorization skills anytime soon.

It was kind of like this Video that I found on Youtube. You know the Andy Griffin Episode where Barney boasts that he still remembers the Preamble and tries to recite it .

This is just so "Classic Barney" and absolutely hilarious ~ I promise it will make you smile and maybe even LOL (Laugh Out Loud).

Fingerprint Friday ~ Masked Bandits!!

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:

I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know its true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God

So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in Nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them?

Then hop on over to
Pampering Beki's Blog ~ she's the Fabulous Hostess for this inspirational event!!

We were having Dinner on our Front Porch ~ when SIX little baby Raccoons (Masked Bandits) ran across our lawn and straight up our Oak Trees. They were so cute ~ but for countless reasons ~ we're going to have them relocated.

Fingerprint Friday ~ Bright Eyed Bunny

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:

I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know its true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God

So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in Nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them?

Then hop on over to
Pampering Beki's Blog ~ she's the Fabulous Hostess for this inspirational event!!

Baby Bunny informed us the other night at Dinner that she doesn't like her Blog name. So, we all sat around the Dinner Table and started brainstorming....... how about ~ Princess Bunny, Le Lapin Lauren, Brave Bunny, Bright eyed Bunny, etc. I can certainly understand that she doesn't want to be called baby anything ~ especially since she's almost 12. However, she'll always be my little baby.....

After she listened to us tossing bunny names around ~ she then announced that she didn't like the Bunny part of her Blog Name. There was an audible GASP from everyone ~ okay so I was the only one that gasped. In fact, she doesn't even want to be mentioned on my Blog. I wonder if she would mind being featured as my posting for Fingerprint Friday........

Well, at least Mr. Bunny loves his Blog name. *wink* *wink* Don't worry ~ I can say anything I want to about him ~ he never reads my Blog. He's too busy working so that I can stay home and work on my Blog and Shop..... I mean cook and clean the Burrow.

Our 16 year old is definitely going to be referred to as "Princess Bunny" from now on. As for Baby Bunny ~ I'll think of the perfect name for her eventually. This morning she was Sleepy Bunny and then quickly became Grumpy Bunny.

Regardless of their Blog names ~ both of my little bunnies bring me constant joy and are true blessings from God. I L♥VE them now and forever ~ to the moon and back.

Les Lapins and Marie Antoinette ~

The extremely talented Natasha Burns made another Bunny Sign for me. I'm sure you remember the Fabulous Bunny sign that she made for the front door of our "Parker Cottage". I usually buy EVERYTHING by twos~ as in "they entered the Ark two by two". Yes, I have been self-diagnosed with "Noah's Ark Syndrome" and always buy things in twos ~ especially if there is a 50% off sale. Even if I didn't have this affliction ~ I would still have bought two of these Gorgeous bunny signs. I'm so thrilled with the way they both turned out!! Aren't these les lapins absolutely adorable??

Here's a close-up of one of the bunnies and just look at those lovely rosebuds.......

I L♥ve these sweet bunnies, the pink roses and the pink/green color combination...... it's really the PERFECT sign ~ don't you agree??

I'm not sure that I'll hang this one on our back door like I had envisioned .... maybe somewhere inside our Cottage.

So, now Researchers are saying that Marie Antoinette wasn't the member of Royalty who said "Let them eat Cake". It was actually said 100 years before her by Marie-Therese, the wife of Louis XIV. "It was a callous and ignorant statement and she [Marie Antoinette] was neither."

The attribution is doubly erroneous in English, truth be known, because the word "cake" is a mistranslation. In the original French the alleged quote reads, "Qu'ils mangent de la brioche," which means, literally, "Let them eat rich, expensive, funny-shaped, yellow, eggy buns."
This is what an authentic Brioche (expensive, funny shaped, yellow, eggy bun) looks like ~

AND ~ this is the ultra-glamorous Marie Antoinette Journal that Natasha of Artistic Creations by Natasha Burns designed for me. It is truly a work of art and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!

Don't forget to check out the Sweet Six Studio Blog and sign up for the Online Art Retreat. This Event is available online for the month of September thru October, 2008. They've posted the instructions for the fabric flower pin (pictured above) and you can even purchase the kit with all the supplies that you'll need. It's extremely doable and looks like it is going to be TONS of fun to make!! Just imagine all of the different places you could use one of these lovely fabric flowers.

Living on Hurricane Alley ~

AND here comes another Hurricane .... Yikes ~ it's Ike!!

I'd better start getting everything ready for a possible evacuation. I wasn't prepared for Tropical Storm Fay ~ remember we ordered Dominos when we lost our electricity. Well, we had food that we could eat ~ but we just wanted something hot and delicious!! Pizza sounded so much better than Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches.

Several years ago in 2004 ~ we evacuated for one of the Hurricanes that was threatening our Coast. I think it was Frances ~ of course that year we had several Hurricanes make landfall on our coast.

Hurricane Frances ~ Thankfully this one downgraded to a Cat 1 right at landfall.

Hurricane Ivan ~ took the long way around but still ended up on our "doorstep".

Hurricane Jeanne ~ She really faked us out when she did a loopy loop in the middle of the Atlantic. We thought we were saved then she intensified and slammed into the Coast as a Cat 3.

All three of these Hurricanes pictured above were in 2004. As we were packing to evacuate in 2004, I was just running around in circles ~ throwing random things in suitcases and boxes. When I think back to that stressful time ~ it reminds me of the scene from "Gone with the Wind". You know the one where Prissy is packing the China. Well, here's a short clip of that scene that I found on You Tube. I really L♥VE You Tube and can or actually do spend hours on there watching various Videos. Anyway, this Video is only about 30 seconds long......

So, I'm trying to work on our Plan and not wait until the last second to pack. Especially, since they're not EXACTLY sure where Yikes ~ Ike!! is going.

My Mother gave me this Fabulous Suze Orman Ultimate Protection Portfolio several years ago. I've had it just sitting by our back door ~ so that I can grab it if we ever have to flee our home. It actually matches our blue and white Kitchen decor. It's actually a much deeper blue than pictured above ~ think cobalt blue.

Sad to say ~ it's sitting there EMPTY!! So, today I'm working on our Emergency Plan, as well as filling my pretty blue "Portfolio" with important documents. Hop over here ~ if you'd like to read more about the Suze Orman Ultimate Protection Portfolio. It's not just for Hurricane evacuations, but any of life's little or catastrophic emergencies.

Of course, my thoughts and prayers are with the victims of Hurricane Gustav ~ as well as with everyone who is in the path of Hurricanes Hannah, Ike and Josephine.

This is the first project that was posted today ~ by Natasha Burns. Isn't this the most beautiful bottle of bath salts that you've ever seen? I'm looking forward to making several of these to give as gifts this Christmas. The instructions are extremely detailed and there are tons of pictures for each step.

This is an exquisite frame and I can't wait to make a similar one. I have some gorgeous fabric in my stash that will be perfect for it.

This is another project that will be featured over on Sweet Six Studio and I'll also be able to use some of my fabric stash for it.

And look at this cute decoration ~
